Olivia Pope is hands down the most fashion forward "fixer" of all time! I drool over her style! Although Olivia is typically sporting Burberry, Prada, and Manolos, you can pull off her look for a fraction of the cost. I have put together her infamous classic trench ensemble along with Liv's pjs you see her wearing while having her nightly bottle glass of red wine (don't worry...this option is WAY cheaper than the La Perla silk pajamas she wears). With this outfit consisting of a basic silk blouse, wide leg trousers and matte heels..you are sure to run the world...or The White House :)

25 Things About Me

I thought I would share a little about myself with my blog followers...thanks for the idea, Cosmo.

1. My favorite movie of ALL TIME is Gone With The Wind. I first watched at age 3...coincidentally I was born on Vivian Leigh's (Scarlett O'Hara) birthday.

2. My Hollywood crush is Henry Cavill

3.  I think macarons and a glass of prosecco are the cure all for a bad day

4.  I am a total tv junkie...fav shows are Scandal, Game of Thrones, Girls, Law & Order SVU, Black List, and basically anything on Bravo

5. I watch Sex and the City dvds and drink hot tea every night before bed

6. I am a HUGE dog lover! I would have a plantation of them if I could.

7. I am a planner....I love to always have something to look forward to.

8. I am an avid reader. Especially murder mysteries (Gillian Flynn & James Patterson are two of my favorite authors)

9. I listen to rap music when getting ready...Ludacris is my main man

10. I love the water but get terribly sea sick

11.  I would love to spend an entire summer in either Cape Cod or The Hamptons

12.   Baseball is "family business" but my favorite sport is basketball.

13.  The first time I was on television was as a guest on a home and garden show at age 7...which is ironic b/c I hate gardening.

14.  When I was 5, I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up

15.  I am literally addicted to coffee

16. The one beauty product I can't live without is mascara

17.  Wicked and Oklahoma! are my favorite musicals

18.  I always seem to remember my dreams the next morning.

19. I LOVE brunch but hate breakfast.

20.  Coming up with blog ideas is one of the most enjoyable times of my week! I get  my best ideas in the car or shower.

21.  I probably know every single song to Disney movies made prior to 2000.

22.  I am not a fan of Italian "chain" restaurants...when your Italian dad makes it homemade, it can't be beat.

23.  I usually go to NYC at least once a year but have never been in the fall.

24.  Growing up, I wanted to marry a Kennedy (this can of course still happen)

25.  I make a "to do" list every morning for that day

It's beach/pool season and time to bring out the swim wear! These are some of my favorite suits of the season.  Last year I bought my first one piece for a vacation to The Hamptons and LOVE it...plan on purchasing many more this summer. The tortoise and pink sunnies are currently topping my summer 'MUST HAVE' list and the Tory Burch wedge flip flops should be on everyone's feet this summer. If you have on any of these suits and accessories...you will be one hot momma for sure!

Lip Party

Summer Kisses

Nothing is hotter than pink lips on tan skin in the summer...unless those lips are sipping bubbly.  These are my FAVORITE colors for the summer and I own them all! Since bright pink is such an intense pop of color, I recommend doing a low key shimmery eye. Whether you are at the pool or patio, your lips will be the life of the party in any of these fantastic shades!

When I want to feel relaxed yet trendy, I always go with a graphic tee! Paired with a chunky statement necklace, this is one of my favorite go-to style options. The tees featured above are some of my favs from blogs I adore! These tees are so versatile and can be worn with anything from printed shorts and boyfriend jeans to a maxi skirt. You can't go wrong with this chic look!

Haute Momma!

Haute Momma!

1.3.6.2.4.5.

Wondering what to get your lovely mom for Mother's Day? Look no further! Knowing my mom, she would LOVE any of these fun gifts! I know I would...hint, hint Lola!

WWBWD?

With the exception of Carrie Bradshaw and Olivia Pope, my favorite television fashion icon is Blair Waldorf. No one in the history of television will ever be able to rock a headband or manipulate a situation quite like Queen B. I was a HUGE GG fan and couldn't wait to see what Blair was wearing or what witty one-liner she would come up with. I will now grab a box of macarons, a glass of bubbly and start Season 1 of Gossip Girl (AKA Dan Humphrey)

XOXO

Thrifty or Big Spender?

Thrifty or Big Spender?

There are definitely many things that I 'Go Big or Go Home' on when it comes to spending money, but if I can cut corners I absolutely take FULL advantage. Here is a list of my BIG SPENDING items and the stuff I buy that makes me Thrifty (not a common term I use when describing myself)

SPLURGE

Handbags- I can't help it...I'm a sucker for designer bags! The classics never go out of style and can make even sweats look posh.
Foundation-In my opinion, if you wear cheap foundation...your face will reflect it. Foundation is something I pay extra for.
Underwear-I'm a total bra and panty snob. I ONLY wear Hanky Panky or Commando panties and don't plan on changing any time soon.  Call me crazy but underwear is a necessity, so comfort is key. These are things I wear every day, so it's justified.
Haircare-I have used LOTS of hair products in my life from both the salon and drug stores. I've gotta go with the expensive brand on this one.
Skincare-This is a NO BRAINER. Don't expect your skin to look like a million dollars if you pay $15. This doesn't mean you have spend a fortune but when it comes to my skin, I want quality.
Shoes-I learned this lesson the hard way in college. Cheap shoes (we aren't talking sale items) will ruin your feet. $20 Target heels may look darling but after a night out, you wish someone would just amputate your foot.

SAVE

Nail Polish-It doesn't matter what brand of polish you buy, it all seems to work the same.
Plain Tees-paying a ridiculous amount for a plain blk/white/grey tee is absurd. I buy mine at Target for $9 and you can't tell they aren't American Apparel or James Perse.
Cocktail Jewelry-(with the exception of Kendra Scott) I am not a fan of paying ungodly amounts of money on costume jewelry. These pieces are only trendy for so long. I buy the majority of mine from Forever 21, H & M or boutiques.
Food-This does NOT mean restaurants b/c I am a huge foodie. However, when I go grocery shopping I don't mind saving here and there for the Target brands vs name brands. It's the exact same thing and no one will look in your cabinet and judge you. The only name brand thing I recommend is buying Johnson & Johnson Q-tips...long story but trust me on this one.
Make-Up Remover, soap, household cleaning supplies-like groceries, I am not opposed to buy Target brand of anything. There is no need to spend $30 on MAC make-up remover when you can buy UP and UP wipes at Target for $5. They do the exact same thing. I rather spend my money on things you can actually see me wearing.
Boos-I am a "cheap date" when stocking my bar cart at home. I usually don't ever spend over $20 for a bottle or wine or champs. In fact, I prefer some of the cheaper labels. No Dom for this girl...unless you are buying of course :)
Jeans-my days of spending $200 on a pair of jeans is over. Unless they make me look like Gisele, I won't ever do this again. I buy all of my jeans from Gap, JCrew Factory or Nordstrom Rack. No more pricy denim for this girl.

Where The Wind Comes Sweeping Down The Plains....

Seriously, how talented is my mom? This is my new office décor that she honestly painted in 45 minutes (while I sat next to her watching Scandal). Inspired by Lilly Pulitzer with more of what I love about my home state. I am in awe of her incredible, raw talent. My sister and I keep begging her to start selling her unique and amazing art. I'm happy she is my mom and uses her super powers for good.
